LGBTI issues in Scotland & the EU
Scottish Conservative MEP Ian Duncan has launched a leaflet highlighting his work on behalf of minority groups across Europe.
As Vice President of the European Parliament's LGBTI Intergroup, Dr Duncan works to stand up for the LGBTI community in both Scotland and across Europe. Dr Duncan launched the document in Edinburgh this weekend, alongside Scottish Conservative Leader Ruth Davidson MSP.
The LGBTI Intergroup seeks to champion equality and hold governments to account when LGBTI rights are breached.
In the past year, Ian has campaigned for groundbreaking laws for intersex and trans people, supporting the rights of LGBTI people to donate blood and promoting civil partnerships for all.
Dr Duncan has also met with the Tunisian Prime Minister to discuss minority rights, and will host Tunisian campaigners in the European Parliament later this month.
Commenting Ian said 'Whether it be championing equality or raising the rights of minorities, I will stand up for the LGBTi community in both Scotland and across Europe. I hope this document will help to raise awareness of the work of the LGBTi intergroup in the European Parliament.'
